1
A particle PP is projected vertically upwards with speed uu m s−1\text{m s}^{-1} from a point on the ground. PP reaches its greatest height after 33 s.
1(a) [1]
Find uu.
1(b) [2]
Find the greatest height of PP above the ground.
2
A box of mass 55 kg is pulled at a constant speed of 1.81.8 m s−1\text{m s}^{-1} for 1515 s up a rough plane inclined at an angle of 20∘20^\circ to the horizontal. The box moves along a line of greatest slope against a frictional force of 4040 N. The force pulling the box is parallel to the line of greatest slope.
2(a) [2]
Find the change in gravitational potential energy of the box.
2(b) [2]
Find the work done by the pulling force.
4
A particle PP travels in the positive direction along a straight line with constant acceleration. PP travels a distance of 5252 m during the 2nd second of its motion and a distance of 6464 m during the 4th second of its motion.
4(a) [5]
Find the initial speed and the acceleration of PP.
4(b) [2]
Find the distance travelled by PP during the first 10 seconds of its motion.
